(1) High reliability
High reliability is the most important requirement that users put forward to transmitter and manufacturer, and it is also the goal that transmitter manufacturer pursues unremittingly for many years. Before the 1980s, the life of the electron tube was generally only a few thousand hours. After the invention of klystron and IOT tube, the life can be increased to tens of thousands of hours, which greatly improves the reliability of the transmitter, but the problem has not been completely solved. Because the vacuum tube transmitter and klystron transmitter both have a fatal weakness, that is, the single stage series power amplification, the failure of any one of the components of the first stage can cause the shutdown of the whole system. In the late 1980s, the all-solid-state transmitter came out, due to the limitation of the output power of high-power transistors, the all-solid-state transmitter is forced to use transistors in parallel, the general use of power synthesis technology, and the whole machine adopts the "redundancy" design, from the actuator to the final stage of the power amplifier all adopt the parallel structure, thus broadcast reliability than the vacuum tube model has made a great breakthrough. So from the reliability point of view, all solid state transmitter is the current development direction of High Reliability TV Transmitter.
